Winter To-do

Two weeks at home seem so idyllic. Here is a short list of what I am looking forward to doing.

10. Read books with me girl.
9. Art days with friends.
8. Clean my closet.
7.Revise my syllabus.
6. Start writing my article.
5. Collaborate on a proposal for NCTE/ALAN.
4. Hang out with fiends.
3. Work on my taxes.
2. Spring hop.
1. Do more reading.

  1. This should/could be my list! I'm hoping to do more art, reading ,writing, and spending time with friends. I also have to work with two friends on a proposal for a conference presentation. I wish you the best in your efforts.

  2. Love that reading tree! Wishing you a lovely holiday filled with all the stuff on your list...and more. Happy holidays!

  3. I am wandering through blogs this morning, lifting lines to make poetry. I hope you don't mind ... and I don't want to offend you but I found this typo in number 4 perfect inspiration (I think it is a typo ... but don't fix it!)

    Hang out with fiends ..
those rascals who vex us --
    interest us --
find us when we are most vulnerable
and twist our words into pretzel logic
so that we rush off in a huff,
    echoes of their confrontations simmering
all day, and into the night.
Don't ignore them ... co-opt these fiends as friends.
    Bring them into your world,
and then use the best of what they do
to upend expectations that have comfortably settled in
    all around you.
